yawnz

Went to meet des for lunch today. After that we went over to Bishan Stadium to queue for tickets for this Sunday's match. Tickets went on sale at 12noon, and we reached there at 12.15pm. There was already a very long (ok, relatively long considering this is a Singapore match and yah, Singapore match) queue. After queueing for a whole bloody hour, about 10 people from our turn, the dreaded sign went up.

"Grandstand tickets sold out"

To think the first time I actually queued up to buy tickets to a Singapore match and grandstand tickets are sold out. How I miss Malaysia Cup days when my uncle always managed to get tickets, sometimes even in the balcony. Oh well, it doesn't really matter to me, though it's a bit disappointing not being able to get grandstand tickets. It's going to be probably the last match played in the National Stadium. According to my dad, the National Stadium is going to be torn down sometime this year. Oh well, so many years of service and they are just going to tear it down like that, with no plans of rebuilding it. Actually have a lot of thoughts about it, but after thinking, this IS Singapore. Can't expect much from it.

Anyway, the real point of this entry. On the way home, Des and I were talking about the Left Behind series. Found out today that because of this book, Des decided to name his daughter Chloe, after a main character in the book. Well, I think I'd mentioned this in this blog some time ago, that I, too, have decided to name my daughter Chloe in the future as well. Have to say, I was pleasantly surprised at this. It's quite interesting both of us thought the same thing after reading the book, but oh well, I guess being friends for so long, 13 years and counting, we sometimes think alike without even realising it. Thought of a few other stuff that Des and I have in common. Both of our favourite football player is Ryan Giggs. Our favourite jersey number is 11, remember having "arguments" over who gets the number when we bought jerseys for our team. In all we had 2 team jerseys, the first one I got the number because I said I wanted it first and the second, we ended up not printing numbers because too many people wanted the number 11 haha... Come to think of it, I guess it's not really coincidence that we ended up going to the same university after all these years. Although we had led quite different lives up to this point, one thing that hasn't changed till this day is our friendship. And for this, I really thank God for. Some people go through their whole life without finding a true bosom buddy. Thankfully, I have one.

Thanks man, bro. I really mean it.

Yeah, the name sounds really nice. There are some other spin-offs from the Left Behind series. I'm currently reading a series of books by Mel Odom which is adapted from the Left Behind series. The first book is called Apocalypse Dawn. I'd only just started reading it so don't really know how good is it, but the starting isn't too bad. It's telling the story put in a military context.
