Melbourne Day 1

oh boy...arrived in melbourne after a gruelling flight, touched down at 4.30am and it was COLD....i thought i could survive with only a polo-tee with an inner t-shirt plus a sweater, seems like i must wear my long-sleeve tees as well now...well maybe until i get used to it...after getting the car, a white toyota magna, my dad, mum and i proceeded down to the city. it wasn't too difficult finding our way there and mid-way through the drive, we came upon a bunch of Greek fans who were celebrating their team's victory in euro2004..this was confirmed by an sms from uncle bert. found our way to College square where dillon and shanna were waiting, well sort of, they stayed up the whole night watching the wimbledon open men's finals...apparently roger federer won, as expected...we hanged ard at their place for a while before proceeding down to chinatown for dim sum breakfast. parking is murder here in the city and it didn't take long before the first summon came...$50 for parking past the time limit...what a way to start our stay here, esp after having finally found the correct building to report to, having only to be told that there was no enrolment excercise today....had to go back on wednesday..disappointed, just managed to buy the pre-paid card and opened my bank acc...it would take abt 3-5 days for my bank account to be fully activated with an ATM card. dillon and shanna had been a great help so far, helping me to settle down and i'm really grateful to both of them, as they despite being very tired, still brought us around town....feel a bit guilty for making them run all over the place...

oh well..now we're back in the apartment, my parents has gone to check in their hotel, and we're probably meeting later for lunch...dillon and shanna are going to catch a movie, but i think i'll spend the latter part of the afternoon with my parents.. see how things goes..
