Queer AXED

Haha, the Australian version of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy has been axed after only THREE episodes. A spokesman even said they were surprised and believed that the show didn't get the recognition the US version got.

OBVIOUSLY they weren't seeing the same show we are watching because, well it SUCKED. At least those gay men in the US version has taste and style. Well, most of the time. I watched the first episode and it was like pathetic. After the makeover, the guy still looked the same. Nothing much changed actually, even his hairstyle was still the same dorky one with a bit of gel/wax on it.

I liked the US version actually. Although the antics of Carson made me squirm at times, at least they did a good job(well, most of the time) with those guys. However, to be fair to the Australian version, it was tough trying to emulate the success of the US version. It is a tough nut to crack(probably not appropriate here ;P).

Time to blog

I think it's about time to blog.

It's the 25th of February today. I arrived in Melbourne last Monday on Valentine's Day. Had a bit of drama at the check-in at my new place. Apparently I was issued with the wrong set of keys and access card. As such everytime I wanted to go out and lock my room, I had to go to the reception to ask one of the staff to go up and lock my room. After a couple of times, I decided to just heck it, I'll leave the door unlocked. Fortunately my room was broken into. Maybe it's because no one knew I had moved in. Till today my corridor seems largely empty. I'm the first unit from the lifts and the next unit, well it seems the place is empty. Either that or they are still renovating the place. Seems to have some construction material in the balcony. After moving in my luggage, and doing the inventory check, I called Des and Dillo. Couldn't get Des, but I managed to wake Dillo up. Went over to his place to check out his new place. It is quite nice, the size of the living room is the size of my whole apartment. And he's paying $300 a week, I'm paying $350 a week. Oh well, can only take comfort that my apartment is furnished while his isn't. Then again, Shanna has almost all the necessities anyway. Oh well...... **mental note SCOUT AROUND!!!**

Had lunch with Dillo and then met up with Des and Floris. It's very nice seeing the two of them. Although they left only 4 days earlier than me, but don't know, just felt happy to see them. Spent the afternoon with them shopping around for daily necessities and then in the evening went to meet Dillo for dinner again. Des and Floris then stayed over for the night. The next few days were basically the same, shopping, eating, sleeping, shopping, eating, sleeping.

Went to Floris's auntie's place in Greensborough for the weekend. They were having some Chinese New Year gathering and her auntie invited me. It was quite fun, lots of beer and wine. Had interesting conversations throughout the night, though there were quite alot of Singapore/LKY bashing because besides Des, Floris and me, everyone else were Malaysians. I just smiled through the night. There was plenty of food as well, and well, I haven't eaten so much for a very long time. Was so bloated by the end of the night, mainly due to all the beer and wine Floris's uncle poured for Des and me. Had a very nice time there.

Then Monday came. Siang Siew called me in the morning and I went to meet her for breakfast. Didn't know what to do so we went to shop for more daily necessities. Showed her my apartment and she said it was nice and cosy. She then went to meet her boyfriend for lunch while I got ready for my lecture later. Floris called a little later as she was in town already and had sometime before our lecture start so she came over. The lecture was fine, though after lulling for 3 months, I think it'll take a bit of time getting back in the flow of full-time studying. Better don't take too long.

Applied for my internet service on Tuesday. Most of the day was spent at home as I managed to fall sick. Don't know how. Just a minor flu and I drowned myself in water. Fortunately it didn't get worse and I'm more or less recovered now. I hope. **mental note 2...GET SOME VITAMIN C PILLS!!!**

Serene arrived with her mum on Wednesday. I only had time to help bring up their luggage as I had to rush for lectures. Wednesday's my heaviest school day. From 10.30 to 17.30 with a lunch break at 12.30. I'm considering changing my financial accounting lecture to the one on Tuesday evening BUT Tuesday evenings are TV nights. There's Frasier, Surivor, CSI and CSI: New York from 7pm to 10.30pm. Haiz...decisions decisions.

Thursday was largely uneventful besides sending my school fees invoice back to Singapore for pa to get the bank draft ready. Oh yah, and Manchester United lost. Kind of expected. Milan is very tough to beat. Hopefully the return leg will be better.

Oh well, it's probably the longest ever post I'd typed, so I'll stop here.

ARSEnal 2 MANCHESTER UNITED 4!!!

THE RED FLAG
United's flag is deepest red
It shrouded all our Munich dead
Before their limbs grew stiff and cold
Their heart's blood dyed it's ev'ry fold
Then raise United's banner high
Beneath it's shade we'll live and die
So keep the faith and never fear
We'll keep the Red Flag flying here
We'll never die, we'll never die
We'll never die, we'll never die
We'll keep the Red flag flying high
'Cos Man United will never die

Ryan Giggs, Ryan Giggs, running down the wing,
Ryan Giggs, Ryan Giggs, running down the wing,
Feared by the Blues,
Loved by the Reds,
Ryan Giggs, Ryan Giggs, Ryan Giggs.

Glory glory Man United,
Glory glory Man United,
Glory glory Man United,
And the Reds go marching on on on.

Just like the Busby Babes in Days gone by,
We'll keep the Red Flags flying high,
You've got to see yourself from far and wide,
You've got to hear the masses sing with pride

United! Man United!,
We're the boys in Red and we're on our way to Wem-ber-ly,
Wem-ber-ly! Wem-ber-ly!
We're the famous Man United and we're going to Wem-ber-ly,
Wem-ber-ly! Wem-ber-ly!
We're the famous Man United and we're going to Wem-ber-ly.

In Seventy-Seven it was Docherty,
Atkinson will make it Eighty-Three,
And everyone will know just who we are,
They'll be singing 'Que Sera Sera'

United! Man United!
We're the boys in Red and we're on our way to Wem-ber-ly,
Wem-ber-ly! Wem-ber-ly!,
We're the famous Man United and we're going to Wem-ber-ly,
Wem-ber-ly! Wem-ber-ly!
We're the famous Man United and we're going to Wem-ber-ly.

Glory Glory Man United,
Glory Glory Man United,
Glory Glory Man United,
As the Reds Go Marching On! On! On!
